His sire, David McElwyn, now at the stud at Oamaru, has not had many chances, but he is a wellbred stallion of distinct possibilities. Last year Mr. W. T. Lowe sent to him Tairane, the dam of Lucky Jack, Trsnand, Dundas Boy, Dundee, and Real Girl, and a colt foal is the result.
David McElwyn was imported from America by Mr. S, W. Kelly, of Wellington.

Lowe is working in his place a half-brother by Siegfried to Only One, who Mr. J. S. McLeod hopes to have racing at the Christmas meetings.
