While an. antlcyclono has extended frum the Tasman Sea on to the Dominion, a series ■of slight secondary depressions has continued to pass in the south. Consequently, winds between west and south have prevailed and have been strong and squally at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but otherwise mainly moderate. Occasional showers' hate fallen in the western and southern districts of the South Island, but the weather for the most part has wen fair to fine.
