The assistance of twelve ' Rovers is sought for Sunday, Octobei I 24, on which date the Smith Family I are holding a concert in the De Luxe r Theatre. Rovers who will give their help are asked to be at the theatre at 6.45 p.m. and report to Mr. Maxwell. i Colour Pitch. The District Commissioner for Wellington West has arranged for the adoption of a distinctive colour patch to be worn in conjunction with the area badge, and supplies are now available at Metropolitan Headquarters. Scouters who already have the Wellington Central colour will be supplied with the new colour patch, free of charge. Bover Moot. A Rover Moot is to be held during the weekend, November 27 and >8. The situation of . the moot has not yet been settled, but wherever it is Rovers can be assured of a profitable and instructive time. N •• Ist Roseneath Troop. The Ist Roseneath Troop announces the celebration of their twelfth birthday on Thursday, October 28. . The evening will be in the form of game and camp fire, and opportunity wi; be taken by Mr. W. G. Bear, the re tiring Scoutmaster, to introduce ti parents and Scouters the new Scout master, Mr. P. Clark. All Scouters am friends of the Ist Roseneath . Trooj are assured of a cordial welcome.

Deep Sea Scout's Visit. Last' week Wellington had a visi from F. L. DickCrhoff, a Deep Se; Scout, who is fourth officer on the s.s Van Rees. This vessel comes froir Batavia and belongs to the Nether land Indies Shipping Co. Mr. Dicker hofl gave a very interesting talk or Scouting in the East Indies. A Kel burn Rover Scout showed him rounc Wellington, and he is looking forward to seeing more of our Rovers anc Scouters when he returns next voyage in seven weeks. Brooklyn Troop. Nine members of the Brooklyn Troor spent the weekend under canvas ai their old camp site out of Porirua With excellent weather and a good menu, all had a jolly good time. Another camp is to be held over the Labour weekend, at a different site, and a good attendance is expected, Two other enjoyable outings were recently made to Masterton and Butterfly. Scouts Hodge and Johnston have been appointed Patrol Seconds of the Ruru and Lion patrols respectively, and Scouts Alexander and Scott have gained the second-class badges. The annual meeting of the Brooklyn Group Committee took place on Monday evening last, and the report and balancesheet presented showed that the group is on a sound footing. Special mention was madd to the effect that more interest and assistance would be .appreciated from the Scouts' parents. North District Dance. A dance in aid of the North District funds is arranged for Saturday, October 30, ill St. Michael's Church Hall, Kelburn. Scouters are asked to keep this evening free. Novelty dances, bright music, and supper promise to make the dance a very enjoyable one. Lyall Bay Baptist Troop. A successful church parade was held on Sunday morning, October 10. The Rev. C. Matthews gave a very inspiring talk to the boys. There was a good attendance or both Jooys and members of the committee. Catholic Scouters' Pow-wow. All Scouters in the Metropolitan area are reminded of the fortnightly powwow of the Catholic .Scouters, to be held at 120 Cuba Street tonight, at 7.30. These pow-wows are not confined to Catholic Scouters and all are assured of a hearty welcome.
