NURSERY AFFAIRS
WOMEN'S NATIONAL RESERVE Mrs. A. B. Gibbons presided over a recent meeting of the executive committee of the Residential Nursery, Owen Street. 'The matron's report stated that the month had been a very busy one. The hon. treasurer, Miss Wiltshire, reported having received the following donations:—Kelburn - Northland branch, £12; Seatoun branch, £6; Island Bay Circle, £1 15s; Lower Hutt branch, £4 10s - ' „ A vote of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Miss Pattrick, all members standing in silence. Miss Pattrick had always taken a keen interest in the work of the Residential Nursery. A letter of condolence was sent to her relatives. A meeting of the management committee of the Residential Nursery, Owen Street, was held in the reserve office, Fletcher's Buildings. Mrs. F. Porter presided. The matron's, report stated that 37 children had been in residence during the month, and that the health of the children on the whole had been good. A vote of sympathy was passed with Miss A. L. Hall in the loss of her sister, Mrs. Taylor. It was stated that a letter had been received from Mrs. L. O. H. Tripp, who is at present in England, sending kind messages to the members of the W.N.R. The various branches gave news of efforts being organised shortly to help the funds of the nursery. A competition was won by Mrs. Duff, of Melrose. The matron and committee expressed thanks to the following donors for gifts in kind;—Mesdames A. B. Gibbons, Brown, Martin, Hewitt, Ross, Beales, Porter, Lady Beauchamp, the Misses Hall and Sheppard, Mr. Irvine, j Evans and Co. (Cuba Street), and the Berhampore branch.
