Logan Derby is expected to come tc New Zealand for the Inter-Dominion Championships next year. This Globe Derby horse out of E New Zealand-bred dam, Belle Logan was bought by Mr. W. Balloch as a weanling and sold for 60 guineas as a rising three-year-old to the Tasmanian owner Mr. H. Barnes. At lh£ 1936 championships at Perth, Logan Derby was undefeated, and has won in every State excepting Queensland, where the sport is at a very low ebb, When Logan Derby was in Victoria just over two years ago it took him all his time to win at a 2mm 21sec rate in very ordinary company, but since then he has made history. In Perth his winning times were 2mir 9:|sec, 3min 18sec, and 4min He also ran -3min 18sec (2min 12sec rate) in winning the grand final. If ever a horse was made to order it is Logan Derby, and J. Agnew. his pilot m all his races outside of Tasmania, is to be congratulated on his training and driving ability. Recently Logan Derby added further to his fame by beating Lawn Derby for third money in Sya ney, both renowned pacers .starting on the same mark.
