BOYS' INSTITUTE
Mr. W. A. Parton presided over the monthly meeting of the management committee of the Boys' Institute which was held in the Institute building, Tasman Street, last evening.
The director reported that the indoor cricket school, which would be closing shortly as outdoor practise was now available, had proved very popular with cricketers, the attendance having been very satisfactory throughout the seven weeks of its existence.
During the period that the gymnasium has been used for cricket coaching the Institute Club members have been meeting in the Rongotai gymnasium on Friday evenings, under the personal supervision of the director. On Mondays and Thursdays the Institute Clubrooms have been more than crowded by the attendance of junior and intermediate boys, and Messrs. E. McPr.erson, E. '<yle, and J. Webb have given valuable csristancc as leaders of these groups.
At the clos? of the meeting the director reported upon arrangements for the street day appeal to be made tomorrow by the Boys' Institute and Wellington Boy Scouts' Association. Mr. R. D, Moore was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his radio talk on the work being carried out by the institute in connection with the street day appeal.
