POSED AS A WOMAN
10-YEAR MASQUERADE

The flippant remark by a man front whom he sought work "Why don't you go home and powder your nose?" was stated in court to have inspired a tenyear masquerade as a woman by William Richeson, aged 26, who was charged with disorderly conduct The probation officer's , report said that Richeson was originally arraigned in the women's Court and his sex was not discovered until he was bathed at th» women's prison. The report continued that Richeson claimed he was not abnormal but was merely matching his wits against society. He was unable to find work after leaving school. He decided to masquerade after the remark about powdering his nose, after which he was employed as nurse, waitress, laundress, and chorus girl. Six years ago Richeson married % man with whom he had lived ever since. The husband was still unaware of the deception. He was not informed Of it because he was "madly in love with his wife and • might da something desperate."
Richeson was sentenced to ninetjj days' Imprisonment.
