UNLOADING REFUSED

JAPANESE WHALER AT

FREMANTLE

FREMANTLE, October 11,

Pursuant to a recent decision not to handle cargoes on Japanese ships, waterside workers refused to unload explosives and load coal on the Japanese whaling vessel Tonan Maru, which, with five chasers, is the vanguard of several Japanese whaling fleets due to pass through and obtain provisions at this port within the next ten days.

The Tonan Mara is now anchored in the harbour.
