L, J. ELLIS'S GOOD START
L. J. Ellis appears likely once again to be the leading jockey of the season. He missed half of last season's racing through injuries, but he has started off well this term by riding 17 winners to date. He rode three in succession at Wingatui last Thursday, then travelled by air. to Auckland, where his only suecess on the two days was Protector in the Stakes. He will be back in the south for the South Canterbury Meeting tomorrow. ____._
