MATCH PLAY SOON
A large and enthusiastic meeting .at delegates representing baseball cIUDi already formed, under the names ol Ford Motors, Hutt, Petone,. Wellington, Eastbourne (2),, Kelvin Gymnasium, Atlantic Union Oil Co., Central, St. George, Newtown, City, arid Rawleighs, was held last night.. \ A committee under the chairmanship of Mr. C. A. Bristow was formed to go into the question of obtaining suitable grounds in the city, the organisation having already been insured of playing fields in the Hutt, Petone, and Eastbourne areas. - i:.}M v The question of colour? and.--.'equip-ment was also discussed; but,was held over. Difficulty has been experienced in the matter of securing suitable balls and bats, but it was- ascertained that balls had been ordered from Australia, and arrangements have been-made for bats to be made locally. Enortrare being made to Obtain,; the services of a coach. " ■ ■.- -/, . Another meeting wilj be held on Tuesday evening next, and it is hoped that match play can begin.at,, an, early date. ■■ • •
