ROYAL AIR FORCE
CANDIDATES CHOSEN
The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) announced today that the following candidates had been selected for short service commissions in the Royal Air Force, and are to sail from New Zealand on December I:—A. S. Dini (Christchurch), F. E. Eustace (Wellington), J. D. Farmer (Trentham), A. Frame (Oamaru). C. R. Frankish (Wanganui), W B. Grieves, (Auckland), G. L. R. Haywood (Auck-| land), B. L. G. Harker (Wairoa). R. H. Laud (Auckland), G. W. Sutton (Auckland), K. V. Wendel A. S. Luxmoore <Feilding). j In addition, the following candidates have been accepted for short service commissions in the Royal Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force, and will undergo eight months' preliminary training in New Zealand. Eight will be sent to England for the Royal Air Force and four will be retained for the Royal New Zealand Air Force. The candidates will report to the various aero clubs on January 4,1938:— W F. Dawson (Balclutha). T. M. De Lange (Auckland), R. W. Gair (Napier), T. F. Gill (Wellington), L. H. Higgins (Dunedih), B. I. C. Jones (Eltham), L. G. Lilly (Dunedin), R. D. Max (Nelson), J. D. Murphy (Riverlea), S. G. Quill (Wellington), W. S. Rea (Auckland), P. D. Smith (Auckland).
