CROQUET CLUB OPENING

The Karori Municipal Croquet Club held its' opening day on Thursday afternoon". The : day was beautifully fine and there was a large attendance of members and their friends. ' The" president, Mrs. Kearney,, who expressed pleasure at welcoming everybody at the beginning of the new season, asked Mr. Burn, patron of the club, to declare the season open. Mr. Burn made a happy speech and opened, the. season, by knocking the first ball through a hoop. ■■-■*' - A delicious afternoon tea provided by the members was served. The floral decorations, of. the tables which were especially beautiful, were ari ranged by Mrs. F. Dry den. The' following were . the prize-win-iners of the various competitions:— "Squares," Mrs. Morton: "peg," Mrs. i Rabbit; "crazy," Mrs, Billing; "angles," iMrsVEdocbck'.
