MUSICAL EVENING The Wellington Training College Choral Club held a very successful musical evening last night in the Training College hall. The Chora! Club was conducted by T. J. Young, and assisted by the Normal School junior branch of the British Musical Society 'and a number of musicians from outj side the college. ■■■■•'■,■ ' Among the items of the club were a ! group of British part songs, and, to conclude the programme, a vocal arrangement of Weber's "Invitation to the Dance" sung to an accompaniment of strings and ' pianoforte-. Two part songs were sung by the women members. ' ■ The junior part, under Miss Conway, i sang three, unison songs, and also a setting with descant, "The Lord is My Heaven;" ' '' ■' ! ■ The-vocal soloists were Mrs. A. Gimm and Miss S. Wight. The instrumental solos were played by Mr. : A. Martin (violin), Mr. R. W. Bond (violoncello), Mr. R. Henry and Miss F. E. Wills (pianoforte). The Rondo from Beethoven's Pianoforte Quartet, Op. 16, was played by Mr. Martin, Mrs. J. T. Campbell, Mr. Bond, and Mr. Young. ! The accompanists were Miss Wills and Mr. Young. During the evening Miss V. Corliss spoke on . the -Work of the British Music Society. .'. .I.' " '
