MELBOURNE CUP PAYMENT

"A LOT FOR HIS MONEY"

"On behalf of Mr. W. Dring, who ourchased the horses in New Zealand, Mr S Foster shipped three horses to Adelaide from Melbourne yesterday, says the Australian "Trotting Record of September 22. "The- trio came direct from New Zealand, and had a rough passage of 14 days- In Plain Pearl Mr- Dring got a lot for his money, as the well-bred mare (she is by Wrack from Pearl Pointer) is about 17J hands high Another of the trio is Chancellor, a seven-year-old gelding by Peterwah from Black Gold. He eventually did 2min 9Jsec, running third in a mile race at Addington. Torquemada, the remaining horse, is a five-year-old brother to Indianapolis, but the gelding is still a maiden."
