Te Uira, the sister to Phar Lap, who, was purchased as a two-year-old by Mr. H. S. Morriss, ,the owner of the English Derby winner' Manna, and the unbeaten Gainsborough stallion TaiYang, both of whom are located at the Banstfiad Manor Stud, which was at one period the property of the former New Zealander,. tne late Mr. J. B. Reid, was mated with Tai-Yang this season. Te Uira's first foal was a chestnut colt to Colorado. Kid. , .Next season Te Uira will probably be inated with Mahmoud. following on the success that the blood of Blandford lias achieved with mares with i Radium influence in their make-up. Horses bred on this blood cross include the French Derby winner Brantome and the outstanding Italian colt Donatello. The latter is to retire to the stud next season at a fee of 400 guineas.
