"KARITANE KAPERS"

PLUNKET PARTY FOR

CHILDREN

A great pleasure for children will be provided by the Wellington Plunket Society in St. Francis Hall on Saturday afternoon next when "Karitane Kapers" will be produced, taking the form of a dance (plain and fancy drpss) for children, beginning at two o'clock. The "Blue Birds" will be released once more, and will be presented to the young ones at the close of the party. The central committee is organising the event, and the funds will be in aid of the Karitane Hospital. It is hoped that all mothers who have benefited either by the hospital or by the Plunket Society nurses will come and help the society and at the same time give their children a happy afternoon. Mrs. H. R. Chalmers and a subcommittee have the arrangements in hand. Mrs. Phil Cooke, who is in charge of the amusements, has secured Mr. Renner's assistance, and between them they have planned a most entertaining programme. "Charlie the Clown" will be present, a "Punch and Judy Show" will be given, Mr. Southern Colledge will play light and entertaining intermediate music at the piano, and Mr. Alf Jenkins and his pupils will ~give an acrobatic display. The party, indeed, will be one of continual amusement of the kind to appeal to the young. Prizes will be awarded for the most artistic, original, and cheapest fancy dresses, Lady Myers, Mrs. H. Jowett, and Miss Estelle Beere being the judges. Other attractions include a bran tub, which will be in charge of Mrs. Cory-Wright, and Susie Whyte and Margie Neave will serve ice creams., A delicious afternoon tea will be provided by Mesdames Whyte, R. B. Tennant, W. G. Henson, McDonald, Clifton, and Littlejohn. The Plunket Society nurses will be among the hostesses, and Karitane nurses will look after the very little ones, leaving their mothers free to enjoy the afternoon. Tickets are now to be had from the D.1.C., all Plunket rooms, and from all Plunket members of committees and officials.
