OBITUARY
MISS SYLVIA WRIGHT
The death of Miss Sylvia E. Wright, lor many years matron of School House, Christ's College, occurred suddenly on Thursday afternoon at the home of her' brother-in-law, Dr. P. Clennell Fenwick, Gloucester Street, states the Christchurch "Star-Sun." Miss Wright had been in ill health for some time, and recently underwent a surgical operation; from which she had apparently made a good recovery. Her death on Thursday was unexpected.
Youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Evelyn Wright, early residents of Christchurch, Miss Wright had been educated and spent most of her time in the city. She was at one time matron at Waihi School, but her association with Christ's College dated back some fifteen years ago. She will be remembered with affection by Old Collegians throughout New Zealand who came under her kindly care.
Her sisters are Mrs. Thodey (Wellington), Mrs. Sanders (Oamaru). and Mrs. P. " Clennell Fen Wick ' (Christchurch). Mr. Evelyn Wright and Mr. S, Wright (Wellington) are brothers, and others of the family are living In Australia.
