LYRIC SINGERS
EASTBOURNE CONCERT
The inaugural concert of the Lyric. Singers, a small group formed at Eastbourne for the presentation of good music and 'the assistance of worthy objects, was held in the Crown Theatre, Eastbourne, on Thursday evening. The programme consisted of part songs and negro spirituals, as well as solos by members of the choir and assisting al Th*e mixed voices blended tunefully, and a bright future for this Eastbourne iroup seems likely. The songs were well-chosen and were not too ambitious nor of the type that would overtax the strength of a small singing unit. The capable conductor was Mi. T. Watson, and thei choir consisted of the following:—Mesdames F. W. Collins, L. Foley, J. Stuart, Misses A. Bowie, E. Gamble, M. Goodwill, M. E. Magill,M. Wood, Messrs. M. Ardrey, W. Gamble, C Greenwood, J. Macpherson, B. H. Mayall, P. Palmer, and K. Sharp. The accompanist was Mrs. I. Stephens, who greatly assisted the singers.
