OBITUARY

VIRGINIA EARLE

(Received September 24, 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 23. The death has occurred of Virginia JEarle, the musical comedy actress.

"Virginia Earlc, actress and singer, iwas born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1875, and made her first appearance on the stage as a member of the cast of a juvenile production of "The Mikado." For two years she travelled in Australia under the management of Mr. E. E. Rice, playing in "Evengeline," "The County Fair," "Cinderella," and "The Corsair." On her return to the United States she toured with de Wolf Hopper and in 1894 appeared in New York for the first time. Later she was tinder engagement to Augustin Daly and in 1901 played in London.
