PALMERSTON N., This Day.

A proposal at last evening's annual meeting of the Manawatu Cricket Association to play one-day matches this season in the senior grade was rejected

The chairman, Mr. A. M. Ongley. stated that last season the association experienced the greatest success in the history of cricket in the Manawatu Including five Hawke Cup matches, the representative teams played eleven games without defeat. Manawatu's fourteen successive Hawke Cup games without loss was a record in the contests for the trophy.
