DOMINION EXECUTIVE
The work of the Red Cross Society throughout New Zealand was described to Mr. Lewis E. Gielgud, Under-Secre-tary-General of the League of Red Cross Societies, at i meeting of the Dominion executive of the Red Cross Society yesterday afternoon.. Mrs. T. H. Lowry presided, and among those present were the Governor-General and Lady Galway, and the Minister of Health (the Hon. P. Fraser).
The' proceedings were opened by Viscount Galway, who expressed pleasure that greater things were likely to spring from the organisation of the society in New Zealand. There was vast scope for its work. His Excellency welcomed Mr. Gielgud, whose visit he thought would instil, more driving force into the movement in the Dominion.
Mr. C. H. Chapman, M.P., chairman of the Wellington Centre, presented a report on the local work, and delegates from other centres described their activities.
In his brief speech Mr. Gielgud referred to the provision of roadside first-aid stations as a possible avenue gos. Bed .Cross jvoiJs jn iba Dominion,,
