SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS,

Vi'hlle pressure lias remained fairly high to the north arid also beyond Chatham Island a series of westerly depressions has been moving across the Tasmau Sea on to the Dominion. Consequently winds between north and north-west have predominated and have freshened at times about and south of Cook Strait. Changeable weather with scattered rain has prevailed in districts with a westerly aspect, while in eastern areas It has been mainly tailto fine, and temperatures have bees mild everywhere.
