COASTAL PATROL
NON-INTERVENTION REPORT
(British Official Wireless.)
(Received September 20, 10 a.m.)
KUGBY, September 18,
It is understood that the recommendations contained iri a recent report on the work of the Non-intervention Board include a proposal to end the patrol system. The board was satisfied that the patrol was not effective as an ancillary to the sea observation scheme, while it was costly and involved many objections and risks.
It is expected that the battleship Resolution and two destroyers will keep their present station off the north-west coast of Spain.
It is understood there will be 38 British destroyers and five flotilla leaders available for carrying out tha duties imposed by the Nyon Agreement.
