HUTT POWER BOARD
RECEIPTS INCREASE
An increase in receipts was reported to the monthly meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon. Mr. A. W. Press presided. The Engineer and General Manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands) gave the following details of power sales from April 1 to August 31, the figures for the same period last year being in parentheses: Availability rate (domestic lighting, heating, and cooking), £29,914 3s 4d (£29.589 11s 7d); commercial lighting, £6143 18s 7d (£5695 10s Id); water1 heating, £5107 3s lOd (£4549 4s 2d); power, £12,151 11s Id (£9740 18s 6d); public lighting, £1281 17s 3d (£1253 17s. sd); totals (discount deducted), £50,157 0s lid (£45,338 19s 2d), an increase of £4818 Is 9d. During August 46 . new, consumers were connected with the board"s reticulation and 81 additions were made to existing installations. The totals to August 31 were as follows:—Nuniber of consumers, 13,042; ranges installed, 2302; water heaters connected, 2128; connected load in k.w. 53,872. The combined peak registered during the month under review was 7608 k.v.a. Units registered for the month totalled 3,076,100.
