TIVOLI THEATRE.
Two F«uc Films.
Grace Moorf's new Columbia picture. "When You're in Love,' commences at the Tivoli Theatre on Tuesday. To call it gay, gorgeous and , generous with Miss Moore's lovely voice would be insufficient. It is one of the happiest films that Hollywood has ever produced. The opera star renders such masterpieces as Schubert's "Serenade, "One Fine Day" from "Madame Butr terfly," "Siboney," "Vissi Darte . from "La Tosca," the "Waltz Aria" from "Romeo and Juliet," and 'In the Gloaming." All these besides two excellent new popular numbers byJerome Kern, "Our Song" and Whistling Boy." Miss Moore is perfectly supported with a grand story by Robert Riskin of "Mr. Deeds" and It Hapnened One Night" fame. Cary Grant is just right as a hard-drinking American artist, while other roles are deait with skilfully by. Aline McMahon, Henry Stephenson, Thomas Mitchell, Catharine Doucet, Luis Alberni, and others. "Bulldog Drummond," one. of the most popular detectives of fiction and the screen, has only eight hours in which to solve a series of crimes which grip London in his latest Paramount adventure, "Bulldog Drummond Escapes," an action-packed, light-heart-ed thriller which will be the associate feature. The role of the dashing young sleuth and soldier of fortune is handled by Ray Milland, the handsome young Englishman who soared to popularity as leading man in- "The Big Broadcast of 1937" and "The Jungle Princess." He is supported by Sir Guy Standing, as Inspector Nielson, of Scotland Yard, his rival in the crime-fer-reting business; Reginald Denny as "Algy," his pal and assistant; Heather Angel as the girl in the case, and Porter Hall—as the villain, of course.
