'1 TN our last talk we gave two reasons why -°- we'believe tliecc is a place of eternal punishment, for those who die in their sins. There is one more reason and really it is the most co/ivincing proof that we have. That. is_ the fact that the Eternal Son of God died the shameful death of the cross to save mankind from the judgment that was due to them.on account of sin. In 1 Tim. 1-15 we read: "This in a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, . that Christ JemiN came into the v-orld to save sinners." Then the Apostle adds "of whom I am chief." Also it was said of the saints at Thessalonica that "They turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God and to wait for His Son from Heaven, even Jesus which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thess. 1-9-10. The Cross of Calvary tells me four things: My lost and ruined state by Nature, the' love of God to a lost, perishing world, the eternal security ot the believer,'and the eternal ruin of those who die impenitent. Surely the worm that never dies, of which the Lord Jesus spoke, is the tormenting conscience ot those who perish. That they might have been saved but they listened to Satan s lies, and too late, they wake up, to the solemn fact that they are lost for.eyei, that for them.Christ has diedl in vain. In closing let me quote John 3-16: "For God so loved the world that He gave H.s only begotten Son. that whosoever belioveth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Blessed "Word, Numi put your name in that, "whomever.- Moie on this subject next week. D.V. Anxious, souls please write T. J. Cross, 2o Crawford Road, K3.
