TAX CONCESSIONS
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
THE BUDGET PRESENTED
(Received September 9, 10.25 a.m.) ' ADELAIDE, This Day. The Premier, Mr. R. L. Butle^, in submitting" the Budget to Parliament, announced taxation concessions for the general public totalling £285,000, and increased wages- and salaries, restored pensions, extra works, and increased rations for1 the unemployed amounting to £539,000. Despite this and the cut in the disabilities grant, he estimates that the Government will finish the year on June 30 next with a surplus of £3984. The concessions include a reduction from Is 4d to Is 2d in the £ on all taxable income from personal exertion. All basic wage earners with one child are to be exempt from taxation.
