SUB-COMMITTEES ELECTED
At the*1 monthly meeting of the Wellington Navy League yesterday a report stated that nearly 1000 schools had" been circularised with particulars' of the Palmer Prize essay competition. The subjects of the essays are:—Senior:. "Present-day Rivalry in Sea Power." • Intermediate:, "Discovery in the Paeijfic." Junior;.' "The Union / Jack.vils Meaning and Significance." The election-of sub-committees at the meeting resulted as follows:— ■' Finance: Sir James Grose, Mr. F. i-H. irwin, and Mr. B. A. Moore. | Education and policy: Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C.. Colonel R. St. J. Beere, and Dr. Graham Robertson. Reception: Captain A. V. H. HaleMonro, Mr. A. Walker, and Mr. Gordon Reid. ! . ■; The league decided.to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar by holding a luncheon on October.2o.' The chief guest will be his Excellency the Governor-Generi] (Lord Galway). ,■'.'.-■
