Wirespread violence occurred in connection with the Presidential elections yesterday, at least three persons being killed and) many injured.

Two, hundred Radicals engaged in a battle with police at Tres Arroyos, one policeman being killed and five injured.» Soldiers quelled the riot ;

A policeman was killed at Lincoln in attempting to arrest a civilian who fired on a police plane. •

Violence broke out in the capital when demonstrators exploded two bombs and fired; shots, wounding a policeman. Riotous bands of Radicals were dispersed by using tear gas, and several arrests were made.'

The election of Senor Roberto prtiz, the Government candidate for the Presidency, is assured.

Two parties' which supported the Administration of President Justo nominated the former Minister of Finance (Senor Roberto Qrtiz) as ( their Presidential candidate in the September election. The parties, representing the Conservative and Radical wings of the Administration' Coalition, also agreed on Senor Ramon Caseillo, fprmer Wtinister of the Interior, as their Vice-Prer sidential candidate. The parties are the National Democrats and the AntiPersonalist Radicals, The chief opposition was expected^ from the.' former President Alyear, nominated by the Personalist Radical Party. President Justo, who was inaugurated in 1932 for a six-year term, was not a candidate. The Constitution forbids a President succeeding himself. ■ ■■' ■
