PLAY IN FOURSOMES

YOUNG VICTORIANS WIN

SYDNEY, September 6.

Several strong pairs took part today in the amatejur foursome championship of Australia at the Kensington course; determined by medal, play over 36 holes. It is a curtain-raiser to the open golf championship.

The winners were the young Victorians, W. D. Wishart and W. Higgins, with an aggregate of 152, their opening round of 73 being a record for the new lay-out of the course.

J. Ferrier and G. Thompson (New South Wales) and H. Hattersley (New South Wales) and S. Kcane (Queensland) were runners-up, tying with 153.

The New Zealanders C. Ward and L Godby, who arrived only today, returned a card of 87, 04—171.
