PROPOSED N.Z. LAW

MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENTS

(Received September 7, II a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day.

The president of the National Roads and Motorists' Association, Mr..J. C. Watson, said that ihe legislation forecast in New Zealand to do away with the need for proving negligence as a basis of damages for injuries caused by motor-cars,' could only be described as outrageous. "A law such as that proposed would be in direct opposition to every conception of British justice and fair play," he said. "The proposal is just another instance of the tendency on the part of Governments to penalise the motor. owner in every possible direction."
