i The annual meeting of the. Mornington- Vogeltown branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held in the Baptist Church, Mornington.
> Mrs. Edridge presided, and extended a very hearty welcome to Mrs. Porter, expressing warm appreciation of the work of the society.
Mrs. Porter paid a tribute to the work of Mrs. Thomas, who had been responsible for carrying on the work of the sub-branch for a number of years and had last year, with the assistance of Mrs. Bade, almost ■ doubled the amount raised for the previous year. This growth called for a fully official branch.
Mrs. Edridge was unanimously elecbed president, and Mrs. Thomas was reelected secretary. The following ladies volunteered to , collect:—Mrs. Bade, Mrs. Wood, ,Mrs. Thomas, and Mrs. Hyder. AH were, most enthusiastic, and decided' to close their effort on September 30. , Afternoon, tea was served.'.
