BRADFORD TOPS DECLINE
(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyneht.) ' SYDNEY, September 6. ! At'the wool sales t0day'12,936 bales I were offered of which 8436 were sold at auction, 599 bales being sold privately. ' The weaker tendency seen in last week's auctions continued today, and the market for other than best fleece and free broken sortg was from 10 to 15 per cent, below opening rates, best descriptions falling from 5 to 74 per cent. Competition was mainly from the Continent and Yorkshire. A line of greasy merino made 23d. The average price of the wool sold last week was £20 8s 7d per bale and 15.3d per lb. . Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having received cable advice from their Bradford agent regarding the tops market,' reading as follows: — Merino and fine crossbred tops are Id down. Medium and coarse crossbred tops are steady! Business is very quiet, as users of tops are keeping out of the market as much as possible. ,
