CAPTURED STEAMER
BRITISH PROTEST TO CENL. FRANCO

LONDON, September 6.
The British Government has protested to the Spanish insurgent com-mander-in-chief, General Franco, against" the capture of the British steamer Burlington, which an insurgent cruiser escorted to Palma. »The Burlington (formerly the Nau- ! sicaa) was bound Batum to Cartagena, under loyalist charter, laden with 7700 tons >of oil. The vessel belongs to the same line1 as the Woodford, the British tanker which was torpedoed some days ago. off the Spanish coast.
