Party at Carterton. ' * Mr. and Mrs. Williams were host and hostess at an enjoyable party at their home in Garrison Street, Carterton, recently,' when the engagement of their daughter, Norma Mary, was announced. The reception room adjoining the dining-room at the Otago Women's Club was attractively decorated with spring flowers on Thursday afternoon, when Dr. Siedeberg McKinnon' and Miss Holfordwere "at home" in honour of Mrs. J. A. Hanan, who recently returned from a trip to England, where she was present at the Coronation celebrations, states the "Otago. Daily Times." Dr. McKinnon was dressed in a smart frock and three-quarter-length swagger coat of pale grey marocain flecked in black, with a black straw hat ■ relieved ■'■ in white, and'black and white accessories, while Miss Holford wore a frock of pale grey silk patterned in white polka dots with a short hanging coatee to match, white''ruffles at the throat, and a small black straw hat with a coloured posy across the front. Tea was served in the; diningroom, after, which Mrs.- Hanan, as a result of repeated requests, gave an account of the State functions connected with the Coronation". , She w^as dressed in a frock of black silk, with huge pink satin roses and green leaves appliqued , on its elbow-length,- puffed sleeves and round the hem of its flared skirt, a posy at the neckline, and a shallow black;straw hat with flowers at the front and a small eye-veil.-
