ISLAND BAY DANGE

PLUNKET SOCIETY BRANCH The Masonic Hall, Island Bay, .presented a bright scene on Saturday night, when the Plunket Society subbranch held its annual dance; Many multi-coloured streamers gave, the hall a festive appearance. A large number attended, and all proclaimed the dance an unqualified success. AH present stood in silence for one minute in memory of the late Nurse Helen Beckett, this being the first public function since her death. The novelty .dances caused much

amusement, and were won by Mr. and Mrs. Brockett, Mr. and Mrs. Mann, and Mr. Watkins and Mrs. Leslie. The supper tables were decorated with spring flowers, and the excellent home-made supper was provided by the committee and friends. The committee comprised Mesdames Petrie (who was wearing Coronation gold cloque). Johnsen 'blue georgette), Taylor (black satin and gold lame), Fenton (blue and gold georgette), Stewart (black and white satin), Rounthwaite (pink georgette), Beyer (floral georgette), Beazley .
