DANCE AT KELBURN
ST. MICHAEL'S YOUNG MEN On Saturday evening St. Michael's Young Men's Bible Class, Kelburn, held their annual dance .at the Kiosk. Over 200 dancers 'were present. The committee in charge of arrangements comprised Messrs. W. L. Low, J. N. P. Turner, L.de V. Gilbert, G. Wilson, R. Q. Short, J. Dixon, W. F. Johnson, E. Evans, C. A. Mark, L. T. Mark, and J. B. Craven (secretary). The hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Luxford, Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Robins, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. P. Snjithi j and Mesdames W. E. Hay-MacKenzie and G. F. Petrie. Several parties of young people from different parts of Wellington attended. Miss B. Ashley-Jones headed a large party of members and friends from St. Luke's, . adestown. while the Rev. E. M. McLevie and Mrs. McLevie were accompanied by another party from, Roseneath. The guest of honour was Mrs. G. F. Petrie, who was bidden farewell by members of St. Michael's Young Men's Bible Class, for whom she had done a great deal in the past few years. '■ Mr. J. Dixon spoke on behalf of the Bible class and made a presentation to Mrs. Petrie. , . ' Exhibition dances were given by Mr. Davenport and Miss Jean Chalmers, of the Margaret O'Connor studio. Two Monte Carlo dancog were keenly contested, and things became very lively on the appearance of large numbers of balloons and squeakers. The final touch to a very enjoyable evening was provided by the performance of several hakas. Mr. J. N. P. Turner was- M.C., assisted by Mr. E. Evans. - . Among those present were the Misses C.
