NORTHERN TOUR

LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES

Wellington has several Rugby football engagements before the close of the season, and three of them are away from horne —with Hawke's Bay next Saturday, with Wanganui on Wednesday week, and with Auckland on Saturday week. Players to go on tour for these matches are announced by Mr. M. F. Nicholls (Wellington selector) as follows:— Backs. —Vartan (Poneke), Thomson (Athletic), Burns, and Wright (Wellington College Old Boys), Edwards (Wellington), Griffiths (Poneke), Reynolds (Wellington College Old Boys), Veitch (Welington), and O'Halloran (Petone). Forwards.—Ongley and Pringle (Poneke), Lambourn (Petone), Wells and Bishop (Athletic), Fraser Smith (Wellington), Butler and Leahy (Marist Bros. Old Boys), Todd (St. Patrick's College Old Boys), Devine (Hutt), and M. Wright (Wellington College Old Boys). Lambourn and Wells are not available for the match with Wanganui. The players are to train at the Poneke gymnasium tomorrow night at 7.30 o'clock. To the players chosen to train in view of the Wellington "''B" representative team's match with South Canterbury at Wellington on Saturday week Love (Pirates) and Berry (Eastbourne) have been added. The '"B" players are to train on Thursday night.
