D. G. Cobden, the Canterbury wing-three-quarter, who was seriously injured in the first Rugby Test match between New Zealand and South Africa at. Wellington, has made a good recovery, and it is reported that the torn muscles in his side have healed. Cobden hopes to be able to play for his club, Old Boys, against University, in the final of the Canterbury Rugby senior championship on September 11, and for the province in the final representative matches of the season. .< It is possible that ,if Cobden is able to stand up to hard play in these games he will be called on by the New Zealand selectors to train.for.the final Test match against South Africa at Auckland on September 25.
