REPORT DENIED

CHRISTCHURCH, September 1,
iThe report that the Government had appointed Mr. J. O'Brien, M.P. for 'Westland, as Administrator of Samoa, was denied outright by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) this evening. Mr. Savage emphasised that in the opinion of the Government the work being done in Samoa by the Acting Administrator (Mr. A. C. Turnbull) was quite satisfactory., "There is no truth whatever in the suggestion.),that Mr. O'Brien is going to Samoa as Administrator," said Mr. Savage. "The question of such an appointment has not even been considered by the Government. The.work of administration in Samoa' Is being done by Mr.Turnbull as: Acting Administrator, and it is being well done."
