■ A number of players took part in the1 qualifying round of the Glenside Club championships played during the 'weekend. In the men's section the following eight players qualified for the first round in the order given:—G. D. Caldwell, G. G.nv, G. Maxfield, F. E. Barlow, F. E. Goddard, P. MacLachlan, ;E. C. J. Cameron, and N. Carnell. A medal round was also played and resulted in a tie between G. Gavv and G. Maxfield. In the ladies' > section the following eight players qualified for- the play-off in the following order:—Misses C. Sloane," E. Stevens,, ~E. Tomlinson, Sarido, Mesdarnes H. R. MacLachlan, Peryman, J- Brown, and Miss P.' Embury. • The.ladies medal round resulted in a win for Miss C. SloanC, with Miss E. Stevens runner-up. A bogey-match, wttl* be played on Saturday, commencing at- 1.30 pm. Partners will be drawn at the clubhouse prior to starting. Following is the draw for- the first round of the men's championship:—Caldwell v. Barlow; Gaw v. Goddard; Maxfield v. Cameron; MacLachlan v. Carnell. The draw for' the ladies' championship is as follows:—Miss Sloane v. Mrs. MacLachlan; Miss Stevens v. Mrs. Peryman; Miss Tomlinson v. Mrs. Brown; Miss Sando v. Miss Embury. The first round of both championships must be played by September 12.
