HIGHLIGHTS AT RECENT ■ MEETINGS

MANCHESTER U-MIT ODDFELLOWS. The following lodges in the past week have held meetings:—Newtown, Kilbirnie, Petqne, Sis: Wallis; Victoria Diamond (Levin), Combination (Johnsonyille). Rose of Sharon (Upper Hutt), Antipodean, and Rose of the Valley Lodges. Two candidates were initiated in the period under review. • Indoor bowling is now very popular: amongst the lodges, and each lodge has one or more teams competing in different tournaments. ICilbirnie lodge members' defeated Petone in one of the contests. Petone A •defeated Antipodean ■in a recent match, and the latter later defeated Kilbirnie. . '- '■■■•:..
