THE CLAN MACKAY
WELLINGTON BRANCH
FORMED
At the reunion of the Clan T.tackay held last night in the Rechabite Chambers, the wish was expressed that a branch of the Clan Mackay Society of Scotland be formed in Wellington. Dr. N. Reay Mackay presided. The chairman discussed the project, and a letter from Lord Reay, head of the parent body in Scotland, was read. Lord Reay expressed his pleasure at hearing of the proposed founding of a New Zealand branch. He spoke of the high ideals of the clan, and stressed their significance. It was moved and seconded that the branch be formed, and the motion was carried. Rules for the society were approved. It was decided that the society's financial year close on July 31. The following officers were elected:— President, Dr. N. Reay Mackay; senior vice-president, Mr. Duncan Mackay (J.P.), F.P.A.N.Z.; vice-presidents, Dr. Atholl Mackay, Mr. Lan Mackay, Mrs. G R. Mackay. The council members elected were Mr. Andrew Mackay, Mr. E. C. Mackay, Mr. D. Mackay, Mrs. Angus Mackay, Mr. Duncan MacKie, Mrs. Lan Mackay, Mr. Alex. Mackay, Mr. James Mackay (jun.), Mr. Reay Mackay; treasurer, Mr. J. A. Mackay; secretary, Mr. Angus Mackay; auditor, Mr. F. Knight; bards, Miss Jessie .Mackay and Mr. Peter Mackay; pipers, Miss Gracie Mackay, Mr. Mackie, Donald Mackay (Eketahuna), and Donald Mackay. ; ■■
