Famous Pianist.
Hundreds of thousands of music lovers throughout the world know Benno Moiseiwitsch, not only as a great pianist, but also as an outstanding and popular personality. At the Town Hall on Sunday evening next the Wellington public will hear an artist of whom it has been written: "His recitals are typified by playing of so artistic ari order; so sensitive to rare lyrical or noble passages, so temperrjnental and grand in treatment of old masters and modern composers alike, that it is no wonder he holds a unique position as an interpretative artist, and is world famous and admired by all those who appreciate serious pianoforte playing." On Sunday evening this distinguished Russian pianist will be associated with the 2YA augmented concert orchestra in the presentation of a programme wholly worthy of this notable occasion. By arrangement with the National Broadcasting Service the concert is being given in aid of the Mayor's Metropolitan Relief Fund, and popular prices will be charged for admission.
