MANY BY RAIL.
THREE FROM AUCKLAND
A big crowd is expected to arrive in Wellington by rail for the Test match on Saturday, and to convey those from outside centres who wish to see the match the Bailway Department has made provision for the running of a number of special trains, in addition to the ordinary expresses.
All told, there will be, twelve special trains arriving in Wellington on Saturday morning from places distant from Wellington. So far as the local lines are concerned the normal time-tables provide a fairly frequent service, but there is to be a special train from Waterloo and another from Upper Hutt, and both will return after the match.
The number of specials which will be run from centres at a distance from Wellington is greater than that provided on the occasion of the fourth Test in Wellington in 1930 between New Zealand and the British team, and the indications point to these trains being very well patronised.
The following special trains are to arrive in Wellington on Saturday morning:—Three from Auckland, one from Taumarunui, one from New Plymouth, one from Stratford, one from Wanganui, one from Palmerston North, one from Otaki, one from Woodville, one from Masterton, and one from Napier, making a total of twelve. Apart from the three specials from Auckland, the Limited and the ordinary express will have among their passengers a number who will be going to the match, and so too will the usual trains which run into Wellington from other North Island centres.
It is estimated that, at least 1500 people will-be in the Auckland excur-
sion. For.the'■three special trains, 36 cars are to be used. ' . _ All the specials will be leaving.Wellington on Saturday evening, except the Auckland trains, which are to depart on Sunday afternoon.
