COMMUNITY SING

A special attraction at today's community sing, held in the New Opera House, was the appearance of Jimmy Taylor, a well-known English comedian, who was present as guest artist. Mr. Taylor, who has had considerable stage and broadcasting experience with the 8.8.C. and the Australian Broadcasting Commission, was soon popular with the audience and much credit is due to him for the success of the sing. There was a good attendance and, led by the popular song leaders, Messrs. Will Mason and Charles Proctor, the audience thoroughly enjoyed the attractive programme provided. Mr. Frank Crowther presided at the piano. As a result of the sing the Mayor's Fund will benefit to the extent of £18 3s.
