FAIR RENTS ACT

MAY BE CONTINUED

MR. SAVAGE'S STATEMENT

The possibility of the Fair Rents Act, which expires on September 30, being continued was mentioned today by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) in an interview. He said that he was having investigations made into the effect of the operation of this measure. He had no doubt that there would be some reason for a continuation of that legislation, and if necessary it would be continued.

"I think that Act has been responsible for a good deal of relief in various ways," said the Prime Minister, "and if it is doing the benefit we thought it would do it will continue."
