HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY

HAMILTON, This Day.

Mr Enos Holloway, of Morrinsville, celebrated his hundredth birthday today. He is the last of the Fourtieth Foot Regiment, which landed in New Zealand in 1860. Born at Halburton, a village in Devonshire, he is still in full possession of his faculties, and discussed present-day affaifl* and gave a vivid description of the Taranaki-Wai-kato Maori wars to a reporter today.
