AUCKLAND TROTS CARD

Taking the view that no race should be of less value than £200. the Auckland Trotting Club has drafted the programme for its August Meeting, and £1775 has been allocated for eight races. In every event an increase has been made over the stakes of last August, which totalled £1375. with a £25 trophy. Provision has been made for one race each for novice trotters and pacers, and in all other races the limits have been shortened. The principal events are the August Handicap, of £300, with a 4min 36sec limit, against 4min 40sec last year, and the Massey Memorial Handicap, £225, limit 2min 48sec, against 2min 51sec. The Royal Oak Handicap for trotters has been tightened two seconds to 4min 51 sec, with a stake of £225:
