THE LADIES ENTERTAINED
"Never mind the weather" was the motto of a great number of people who alighted from motor-cars at the Commercial Travellers' Club last night to participate in the revels of "Ladies' Night." She carried a beautiful bouquet of hyacinths which had been presented to her by the staff. •. The reading room, ' where the concert was hejd,;with its.beautiful wood panelling and parquet-floor with large open fireplaces on either, end'of the room, was made cosy ■ with central i heating. ■ At the commencement of the. concert the president, Mr. H. Supper was served in a large room upstairs, which was decorated in the club's colours, black and gold, with paper streamers and festoons of ballloons in these shades. The tables were decorated with streamers, of black and gold and vases of spring bulbs and maidenhair fern. On entering the supper room each guest was presented with a fancy paper hat, these when donned causing much amusement and added the carnival spirit to the occasion. .
